Set amongst 40ha of indigenous forest, this four star private game and forest reserve sits nestled at the foot of Mount Kemp. Only a short 20 km's from Stutterheim and one hour from East London and the Indian Ocean, Sandile's Rest offers the discerning traveler a delightful break while providing peace and tranquility in gorgeous surrounds.
Luxury Canadian style log cabins are built from carefully chosen trees from their own plantation. Each one comprises three en suite bedrooms and both downstairs bedrooms have French doors leading onto their own secluded deck. The fully equipped kitchen comes with fridge, freezer, built in stove, microwave and washing machine while a luxurious lounge opens onto a large deck perfect for relaxing during the long summer evenings. The cooler winter nights are also catered for as each cabin is fitted with a fire place and adequate stocks of firewood are supplied.
Double and luxury suites are also available in the Trout and Forest Lodge. All have an en suite bathroom, private deck, bar fridge, DSTV and heater or fireplace. The cosy pub and charming lounge are the perfect spots to relax in after an invigorating day and the lodge takes pride in serving fresh and tasty home cooked meals.
Sandile's Rest is the perfect venue for the enthusiastic fisherman as with two well stocked dams, both trout and bass fishing on a catch and release system are available. Walks through the indigenous forest follow paths past old felling pits to gentle streams and perfect picnic spots. With over 80 different tree species, many of which have been named, it as a nature lover's haven while the natural wetland is home to a myriad of birds. Mountain bikes and horses are also available for those who would like to explore the area further.
